Burnham & Highbridge Lib Dems Statement On Brean Leisure Park:

We are deeply saddened by the news of Brean Theme Park. 

Brean Theme Park (Brean Theme Park Ltd), which has gone in to liquidation, has long been an important part of our local area.

As a tourist-led town, Burnham-on-Sea relies heavily on holidaymakers who choose to stay in and around the area and who then visit our seafront, high street, shops, cafés, and local attractions.

The relationship between Brean and Burnham-on-Sea is closely linked, and what affects one inevitably impacts the other. Beyond the economic impact, Brean Leisure Park holds many memories for generations of families who have lived and holidayed here over the years.

Our thoughts are with the employees. We hope that any future plans for the site fully recognise its importance to the local community and to the wider tourism economy.

We will continue to support efforts that protect jobs and help ensure Burnham-on-Sea remains a place that welcomes visitors and supports local livelihoods.
